Starting from the first coin laid by John Ryan and Mayor Martin Winter, we are now forming a line of £1 coins from Belle Vue all the way to the site of the new stadium at the Lakeside, a distance of 2 km*, to raise £100,000* for the re-launch and support of the Youth Team.

The following map shows how far along the "trail" we have reached.

Below: The "launch ceremony" for the Coin Trail,
attended by Doncaster Mayor Martin Winter
and Rovers chairman (and our Honorary President) John Ryan.

From L to R: Mike Garrity, Ray Thomas, John Ryan, Andy Liney,
Ian Spowart (Cabinet Member for Special Projects), Mayor Martin Winter,
Stuart Highfield, and Peter Hepworth.

Please donate what you can. We will gladly accept anything from a single £1 coin, to a weekly or monthly commitment (standing order mandates are available if you choose), or you cnowy pay using the PayPal system via this website.
If you would like to pay by standing order, please click on the logo below for a form in Microsoft Word format.

Every little helps, and every metre of coins takes us £50 nearer our goal.

If you would like to pledge £50 or more, or sign a standing order for a minimum of £2 per month (until the stadium opens), you can enter our special £1000 prize! The first 100 fans who join the £50+ Club can record* a guess of the number of coins* they think it will take to complete the route, and the winning entry will receive a £1000 cash prize*.

A plan showing the progress of the line of coins is on display in the Viking Sports Bar, and will be viewed on our website and the Rovers' Official website (www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk). We will also keep you informed of progress via the matchday programme and e-mail newsletter. We will place "milestones" along the route every 200m (equivalent to £10,000) to indicate physical progress along the route towards our goal.

In the week leading up to the opening of the ground (possibly before a home game), we will lay out EVERY coin received since the last milestone, and hopefully fans will rally round and bring as many coins as they can for a final big push to complete the route.

PLEASE GIVE AS MANY £1 COINS AS YOU CAN SPARE!

*The route will be surveyed by an independent professional surveyor who will calculate the exact number of £1 coins required to complete the route, and retain this information until the date of the opening of the stadium. His decision will be final. No employee of Rovers or officer of the Viking Supporters' Co-operative will know the number of coins involved until it is revealed by the independent professional surveyor. Furthermore, no employee of Rovers or officer of the Viking Supporters' Co-operative will be eligible to join the £50+ Club. Prize money will be reduced proportionately if there are less than 100 members of the £50+ Club.
The 2 km distance and £100,000 target quoted above are estimates only, and should not be relied on to establish a guess of the exact number of coins required. Any method can be used to establish a guess. Numbers will be eliminated from the choices available in the order that the guesses are received and recorded.
